Minneapolis, MN (November 3, 2010) — Cruise Holidays, North America’s oldest cruise-specialty retail franchise, presented Cruise Holidays of Northwest Austin its New Store of the Year award at a special ceremony during the network’s Annual Convention, being held this week at El Dorado Royale Resort & Spa in the Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The owner of Cruise Holidays of Northwest Austin, Diana Whiteside, is a former teacher who wanted to transform her career to something completely new. She opened her store in early 2008. Despite the fact that the United States was about to face its deepest economic crisis in decades, Whiteside forged ahead. "Diana is an extremely tenacious person, and working in conjunction with our Cruise Holidays support team, she was able to start a successful business when others – considering the outside factors – might have given up,” said Mark Schiffner, vice president of Cruise Holidays.
The New Store of the Year award was open to all stores that had a full year of sales in 2009.
